Yesterday I thought I should be down at 8:20, but we really didnt have to be down until 8:30. Oh well. I had the yogurt for breakfast, so i was in a good mood! haha. It also was kind of chilly out..yay! by chilly i mean i was comfortable in 3-quarters length light sweater and jeans. When we got to school we didnt do much for the first hour. Ashley and i then got split up and i went to namah's class. They were 11th graders. Israeli's behave so much more different (as i said in thursday's post). First of all, they would not shut up! I felt bad because they already seem to be difficult, but i was such a distraction for them. One boy really wanted to know how old i was, if i had a boyfriend, what my number was, where i lived, and if i had a facebook. He obviously also said how beautiful my eyes were and that he loved me. He also kept on wanting my help and would yell out for me to comes sit down next to him. um..no! Ashley and i joked about how after we say our name, say where we are from, we are 18, dont have boyfriends but not into younger men, so no we will not be giving out our number or name so they can add us as friends on facebook!
After that class, we had another free period and then went with Pamela to her class. Her classroom was being used because people were making up the test they took last week. The problem was there wasnt another classroom available! That is typical for an israeli school. Eventually we found a small room and Pamela wanted us to just ask them questions in english or have them ask us questions. She just wanted them to become more comfortable with speaking english. We talked about siblings, where we are from, school, etc. Then some boys who are good at english found the classroom and then we ended up talking about clubs and how old we are.
On our way back, a brit named flo (i think?) came on the same bus as us so we all talked. We ended up having an interesting conversation about the different school systems (england's, america's, and canada's). England's is so confusing! After the convo i had lunch and went to my optional classes. I took a nap in between them. In my kabbalah class we talked about freedom and how the western's definition is following inclination, but the jewish definition is the exact opposite--it is going in a path different than inclination. Also, the same word for engraved in the tablets has the same letters as freedom.
In my mitzvot class, i got the idea behind washing your hands with a cup clarified. By using a cup when washing your hands, it is showing the spiritualness of the water. Without the dust, one cannot see the light. Similarly, without the cup (vessel) one cannot see/feel the specialness of the water. We also talked about clothing and how originally our bodies were our clothing for our souls, so now we basically wear clothes on clothes. The problem of clothing today is that it tends to conceal or project something besides the wearer. We forget that clothing is meant for a cover up. The reason why Adam puts on clothes is to think he is independent. We are going to go more into this next class. We ran out of time. After class, i went to my holocaust film's class early because he had a surprise for us. We basically watched a music video and listened to jimi hendrix and tried to see the story line of the songs. We also watched a south park thing. We watched "The Odyessa File." It was in color and interesting but a little long.
After class i rushed to the apartment, showered, stuffed mac and cheese down my throat, grabbed an ice cream and i was out the door to go to the concert. I met up with jamder's (plus miki) before the concert and it was so nice to see them!!! unfortunately we didnt sit by each other. The concert was SO good! We all just danced like goofs and had such a blast. I have some pics. I then talked with jamders and miki for a little, got introduced to erez's friends, and luckily i found my friends even though my phone had died! haha..cool im smart. I then hung out with miki some more and we all just goofed off. I got home around 12ish. I then watched a 12 minute movie for my midterm in holocaust films. I'm going to analyze it with Katie and britty. i then worked on my paper and didnt get to bed until 2. yay!!!!
