after the last speaker, i went with rachel and our new friend britty to a mall to get some binders. it was like a 10 minute walk. i LOVE how everything is so close! we have such a good location! while walking back from the mall we saw a dumpster on fire. trash was just burning inside it. i guess that is the norm thing to do? i took a picture of it on my camera phone. we then came back to the apartment and had a group meeting. that went well. after that we all made our own dinners. i made a grilled cheese. after this, though, we all starting talking about how we have to start cleaning the bathrooms, toilets, and kitchen. we found ants in our kitchen so we swept them up and threw them out the window. i think ants are just a part of israeli homes! but we will start to clean soon...after dinner me, rachel, and britty decided we wanted to go to ben yehuda street. i had my first (legal) beer! i did not like it though. we then met up with some of friends of britty and got frozen yogurt. we got the kind where you pick fruits and then they blend the fruit with frozen yogurt. it was so good! we then left ben yehuda right before midnight so we could catch the last bus. on the bus we started talking to an american who was considering allyah.
when we turned onto our street to our hostel/apartment, we saw the israelis from the other night right by our hostel/apartment complexes. they were with some other girls on the shevet program. they recognized us and asked why we didnt call them. we decided just to say we were tired and are gonna go. the security guard came out and starting talking to the israelis. rachel, britty, and i just decided to walk back with him. he told us those israeli guys were stupid, etc. i forget his name but i want to become friends with him! haha. i have 3 months to work on our friendship. im so used to only having like 10 days! a couple people were already back in the room so we all just talked and hung out. ahh it's 2:30am. i have to be ready to take a hebrew placement test at 8:30am. must go to bed! oh but i forgot to add that my feet are KILLING me. they are soooo sore! לילה טוב!

sounds great so far...how did you do on your hebrew placement exam? I think it's so exciting that you will be teaching english! I can't wait to hear all about it. I will tune in again this weekend and catch up. Have fun honeychops:)

ReplyDeleteHey Jess, Sarah tells me she has been video chatting with you--pretty neat. Glad you like Israeli coke better than Israeli beer! Good luck teaching English--not an easy language. Have fun. Love, Aunt Amy #1 (ha)
