(got a little behind...)
TUESDAY: On Tuesday, I woke up after 12. Such a nice sleep in. Nearly 10 hours of sleep!!! The siyyur was architecture in Tel Aviv. Almost no one showed up. Maybe there was about 12 of us? So nice!! It was nice to walk through tel aviv. The architecture wasn't interesting to me, but the 2nd part of the siyyur was really cool. We went to this museum of Joseph Bau and his daughters taught us all about him. He only signed his work with someonig that looked like a swan, but when you look at it sideways it said באו. He had to be secretive and not become famous because he was part of the Mossad and forged documents. He was also in the concentration camp and that is how he met his wife. In the movie "Schindler's List," the wedding scene is talking about Bau and his wife. His daughters told us the incredible story of how they got married and told us how many times he almost died. When he got to Israel, he took a facination in the language because of the deep meaning behind each word. For example, the word אמת, לחם and more. There is a book he writes and his paintings are really meaningful. The website for his work and stories about him is: www.josephbau.com
After that and doing the "Be happy now. Do you know how? How how how how how how how Meow!..." dance, Rach and I walked and went to the Japanika bar. I ended up getting salmon with asparagus and sweet potato. SO GOOD! Rach and I kept on talking about the sushi for a couple of hours. We hadn't had sushi in such a long time. Then we talked about how in the states that meal would cost us about $20, except here, it only cost us 20 sheks! On the bus ride home this old man kept on eying Rach. He was funny because when he would read from his book he would shake from laughter!!! When we got home we made sandwiches and cut up many veggies. We met katie and the bus stop and then went to the beach. We had a little picnic and had my laptop to go over slides for our David Project quiz. It was nice to hang out with them. We then came home and was late for the movie night, which was at Rachel's house. We saw the movie "Raid on Entebbe" and after eating some of their challah, we came home and then after talking with Boaz for a little, I did my homework, talked to him for a little more, and then went to bed around 2ish.
